Taqiya: Deliberate Deception (Unveiling Islam Book 3)

Taqiya: Deliberate Deception (Unveiling Islam Book 3)

Mohamed El-Tayeb
0/5 ( ratings)
The principle of taqīya and its application is inherent in the Islam world. Characterized as “double-speak” by one critic and lauded by Shiite scholars as the “believer’s paradise,” the practice of taqīya since the time of Muhammad has profoundly impacted Islamic politics, culture, and society. In simple terms, taqīya is to say or act differently from what one believes to fend off damage and harm to one’s wealth, honor, and self. Historically, early Muslims practiced taqīya to protect their numbers and interests, such as pretending to renounce their faith or expediently enter into peace treaties with their enemies, until they achieved enough power to overcome them and resort to their true beliefs and intentions. Today’s Muslims might apply taqīya by wedding a Western non-Muslim just to gain citizenship in a Western country to exploit its services and educational institutions. These immigrants might openly profess patriotism to their adopted country while covertly encouraging jihadism and supplying resources to militant terrorist groups, such as al Qaeda or Islamic State .
