The Mission: Brother Padriag of Saint Brendan's Voyagers

The Mission: Brother Padriag of Saint Brendan's Voyagers

Paul Kimber
0/5 ( ratings)
A runaway climate nearly destroyed life on Earth. After centuries of recovery, humanity realized the only way to insure indefinite survival was to locate and occupy other worlds. Utilizing ancient Twenty-first Century technology, they found a way to get around Einsteinian Relativity. Humans now live on innumerable worlds across hundreds of light-years, morally and spiritually united through the labors of the Unified Church and her special missionaries, the Order of Saint Brendan’s Voyagers. Peace and harmony prevail.

Most of the time.

Beyond the frontier of human habitation, a rogue spacecraft established earth-life on a planet that appears to be a portal for unimagined powers, and magic-endowed races emerged. Authorities, fearful of this power if it were unharnessed, attempted to erase all knowledge of this world, but secrets can be kept from neither the Church nor her ancient Adversary and the race to claim souls must go on. In a desperate attempt to beat the enemy, Padriag, an unlikely monk, is dispatched to bring the Eternal Truth before the Father of Lies can claim this world for himself.

The Enemy, of course, has his own minions frantic to locate and exploit this mysterious power.

On a world with multiple sentient races, meat-bearing plants and animals resembling every mythology ever invented, can a spiritual warrior with an appreciation for fine whiskey, armed only with his faith, a staff, and a talking ring prevail against cosmic forces and human greed?
