London. September, 2026.
When a light rain of pale red sand falls on the streets of London the people of the city celebrate with cocktails and dancing. It's the event of the year that everyone wants to be a part of. Then planes start dropping from the sky and the sand descends in a giant blanket of doom. The lucky ones die instantly, crushed by the huge weight. Hundreds of thousands more suffocate, burn or drown in the chaos that follows. By the time London is evacuated over two million people are dead. Amongst the survivors crawling up through the corpses to the streets are a bunch of scared kids. Scattered across the city they have to fend for themselves in an alien landscape where death lurks under every step. Battling shifting sands, mutating insects and middle class cannibals, the children discover what it takes to survive in an alien landscape.
