Greenwood Smoke Screen: The Battle for Glamouria Series

Greenwood Smoke Screen: The Battle for Glamouria Series

In a world on the brink of turmoil after 100 years of peace, a mother will do anything to ensure her families safety. Will their plan work, or will they be captured by the enemy and face dire consequences?

"I’m not like most people though. Or at least, not like most people I meet. I see so many things happening in the world every day, and I can’t help but wonder if they may lead to not only our nation’s, but our species, demise. The signs that our Director, his Advisory Council, and the Guard are growing more powerful and more bold every day are evident. You can see why I began to worry that maybe there was a reason they were trying to move more people to the city. Our Director, Edwin Field, is an elected official, as is his advisory council. Their job is supposed to be to keep peace, and protect the citizens of the territory of Glamouria and its outlying territories that he also presides over. As of late, it has become evident that he has been slowly, and stealthily, overstepping, his boundaries. He’s been creating unjust laws that only benefit his conglomerate, and imposing more and more control over our population. We have been labeled a free nation ever since our hard won freedom in the Crusades a hundred years ago. Now, slowly, but surely our leaders strip our citizens of a little more of their freedom every year. We all live such comfortable, mundane, lives though, that many don’t even notice, or care. This is why I find it curious when hundreds of citizens are being enticed away from our rural communities, and drawn to the big city. At a time where there is turmoil brewing beneath the surface, it makes complete sense to condense the population, so that they are easier to control. I keep these thoughts to myself though, because I know they are treacherous, and I don’t know who can be trusted."
