Jack, a psychiatrist, gets an unwanted visit from his good-for-nothing brother Clancy whom he hasn't seen in years. The latter asks his brother to analize him psychologically, then infects himself. (view spoiler)[There are several flashbacks that show the tense relationship between them. The town they are in is isolated, so the crossed haven't found it until later on, when Jack and Tiffany, a young woman that stayed with him after her family was infected, need a survival plan. Before they can do...
So there were 2 stories in this one volume--the first one I drew some issues with-the main female was, eh, not well written/envisioned and her part in the story was super annoying. But the relationship between the 2 brothers was interesting, mostly. The art, too though, was really not my style. It's so...boring and has a slight sexist feel to it. All "good looking" females look EXACTLY the same, and I guess so do most of the "normal" men. Just, not a fan of the art, doesn't add to the story very...
This volume wasn't quite up to par, although the art was good as usual. The first story featured a brother, one Crossed and one clean. The clean brother is a psychiatrist and keeps his Crossed brother locked up in an attempt to analyze him. (The Crossed brother actually infects himself so his brother can study him.) We see how messed up the relationship was between the two brothers and how what we think is the "good" brother might really be the "bad" one. Then we have a female there who seems to
The first story, about a shrink trying to analyse his crossed brother, is pretty neat in how it's told (with a couple of nice title drops); the second, a banally polemical reverse exploitation/grindhouse rape revenge fantasy, is utter tripe (even by Crossed standards).
Yes that Max Bemis! Max drops to strongly Badlands style Crossed books, with the main protagonists being pretty reprehensible people in both stories. The first story has perfect older brother and pretty dark younger brother coming together after C-Day, with their pasts eventually catching them up. The second, shorter story has four geeks enslaving a female comic book creator on the spur of the moment on C-Day. Both stories travel very dark waters, so kudos to Bemis for raising the issues he rais...
The main story is about two brothers, Jack and Clancy. Sort of Yin and Yang, personality-wise. So Clancy volunteers to get infected on purpose so that his brother could study the disease. It is slowly revealed, there are hidden demons from their childhood days. A sick family drama with an even sicker ending. The short story about folks trapped in a comic book store is just a typical rape revenge. Nothing special.
Sorry but the shrink story was total crap :/But loved the Leigha story LOL !She definitely saved this volume from being a total waste.
SJW garbage.
