In 1969 at the age of 49, Grand Master Sam Tendencia came to the United States. Tendencia established A.R.N.I.S. . He was recognized as one of the leading exponents of Arnis in America. He continued to train up until the mid to late nineties. The main goal in writing this book is to try to write it as if Supreme Master Tendencia would have taught himself. As a Disciple of the Late Great Sam Tendencia I assure you as I write this book of Tendencia’s Stick on Stick Disarming, that not only are these techniques Supreme Master Sam Tendencia’s but also his structure is being fallowed to the letter. There are only a few good pictures of Supreme Master Tendencia doing the techniques that I could use. For the others, I would like to thank Tendencia’s Council of Disciples for filling in.
Tendencia’s sticks on stick disarming techniques consist of Levers, Winding, Stripping, Check Hand Winding and Snatching disarms. The tools in which we use to accomplish these techniques with are; the Arnis or , the Punyo which is and the Check Hand or . Arnis uses 12 angles of attack or 12 strikes that we defend from. For the sake of this disarming book we will be using only five of the twelve to make all the points with.
