Jamie and the Joke Factory

Jamie and the Joke Factory

Peta Rainford
0/5 ( ratings)
‘I say, I say, I say, what do you get when you cross a story book with a joke book?’
‘I don’t know, what do you get when you cross a story book with a joke book?’
‘Jamie and the Joke Factory!’

This colourful picture book tells the story of a little boy called Jamie, and his surprise day out at the joke factory. Haven’t heard of a joke factory? Well neither had Jamie, but jokes have to be made somewhere, and a joke factory is the place they are made. Join Jamie and Grandad as they watch ‘doctor, doctor’ jokes; ‘I say, I say, I say’ jokes; ‘knock, knock’ jokes; and puns role off the production line.

‘Jamie and the Joke Factory’ is not really like Roald Dahl’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, though the owner of the factory is called Billy Bonkers! This book is full of word- and picture-based jokes, extending the appeal of the picture book to slightly older children and even reluctant readers.

This is a colourful picture book for children from 3 to 8+ years, crammed full of jokes. It is a funny, engaging story to listen to at bedtime, or a good book for early readers.
