You Are Growing Up Royally!

You Are Growing Up Royally!

Dan Mitchell
4/5 ( ratings)
Fast moving and often downright hilarious, this book visits the dynamics involved in our most formative relationships. Delivered with a splash of cynicism and well-timed guidance on navigating the key challenges we all face growing up, we are invited to revisit those basic decisions in a new light.
The stage is set in the 1930’s on Chicago’s South-Side on a five acre farm. A member of the very first, first grade class to attend Saint Christina’s Catholic Elementary School, the author was also in the very first class to complete eight grades and graduate from that school and go on to Saint Leo High School.
During this story, the innocent curiosity of a child meets with some real-life consequences . . . one being a nun with an eighteen-inch ruler!
Rich in history and alive with experiences twenty years before John R. Powers even picked up his pen to write “The Last Catholic in America,” this author innocently asks the question: “Don’t you think, sometimes, that we never really grow up, but that we merely learn how to behave in public . . . . . ? ? ?”
The book is certainly a must-read for anyone on the path to adulthood, or anyone close to a curious minded child on that path.
