3.5 stars.
Summer will end. Our friendship won't. Short and fun read. Their simple yet wacky adventure made me giggle and feel warm.
ghost ponies!!
I really liked the special. The story manages to capture the essence of our Lumberjanes and the panels help the story greatly!
3.5 starsIt was cute! It’s always really irritating to me when the illustrators switch, though. I️ prefer the original person instead.
Still not my cup of tea, but nice. Enjoyable.
This special is so mundane. It looks interesting at first, but shortly it becomes a template job. Jen takes girls to some learning, and suddenly a wild adventure appears. The girls behind Lumberjanes ensures me with every single arc and special that they have nice ideas about fantasy adventures, but zero to none creativity and innovation how to compose it to the whole story. it's like pub stories, which starts and ends completely same, only the shenanigans in middle is somewhat different (but st...
Nice little stand-alone issue and Riley gets to meet a "ghost pony"! Friendship to the max, yo.
In this special issue we see the girls in a new arc. What I liked the most: their friendship is great. What I didn't like: I think this arc could have been longer.
Another fun short story from the Lumberjanes universe
Sometimes Lumberjanes just feels kinda repetitive, and not crazy about the art in this
I could've sworn that I had read this before...in fact, I know that i have. I guess I just forgot to mark it as read on here. Anyway, I love the Lumberjanes. They're fun.
3.5This was a cute read, but I prefer the storyline graphic novels, those have more adventures. Still nice graphics though.
Not super crazy about the art
Probably my favorite Lumberjanes story which emphasizes how much the girls care for each other as friends. Also I thought the magical horse was really cool.
A ghost pony, a summer camp, friendship, and an evil lady. What more do we want? Those who have been following me on Goodreads/my reviews for some time know, I did not enjoy Lumberjanes. For various reasons, like no character development, story? whut?. But when I heard about these little short specials, my curiosity rose up. Especially since, despite the terrible start Lumberjanes had, I always kept being curious about the series. Would it become better? Would later parts have an explanation? So
I love this artist usually, but, seriously? This borrows too heavily from The Last Unicorn. Shiny horse beings tracked down and captured until there is only one left! It tries to escape the evil person's bull wolves but is caught! Our heroines free the unicorns shiny horse beings all at once in a rush! On a cliff! :-/ Disappointing, since I was very excited to see Hicks's name attached to it, but I was hoping for something a little more original.
Ripley chases after a ghost pony. The other four girls go after her and encounter Sola, who is also after the ghost pony. A special issue of the Lumberjanes. A fun story with the Lumberjanes.
The only reason I'm giving this a 3 stars is because I was COMPLETELY lost. I'm new to the comic book world and when I saw this in the comic book store and saw that this was "volume 1" I automatically assumed it was the FIRST ever Lumberjanes but after reading the reviews, I now know this was a special. I might change this rating if I decide to reread this comic after I've actually read the REAL first volume. This story was still incredibly cute and there was a ghost pony in it sooo that was pre...
