Best Friends Forever: Growing Up in the '50s

Best Friends Forever: Growing Up in the '50s

Pamela Arnold
5/5 ( ratings)
Truman was President, Elizabeth was a young queen, and the Yankees and Dodgers were pennant rivals, but Pam was being ripped from all she had known and loved in her young life in Miami. Her mother was taking her to a “better place” in Newport News, Virginia. Like many plans and promises, this one was shaded with untruths as Pam discovers that family doesn’t always love you and friends aren’t always true. For a while, Pam’s only friend is a dog, Bootie, who is an outcast like her. Then comes Patsy.
Follow Pam’s mishaps and misadventures as she learns life’s lessons, many of them the hard way. Life has a funny way of coming out all right in the end, or was it just because of Patsy and her family being there when Pam needed them most? More adventures ensue, but these happen with a friend. The times may seem more innocent, but much of life transcends a particular time in history and some truths are always true, no matter when they occur.
For the reader’s enjoyment and edification, a historical index is included at the end of the book, for even though much that happens is fictional, the historical period and places are quite real. Come enjoy “growing up in the ‘50s” through the lives of two best friends.
