I was not very impressed in the beginning of this book. I was actually pretty irritated that I had bought it at all. I really didn't like Tamara and her friend Suzanne at first. During the cocktail party they came off as really shallow and rude. I also disliked that Geoffrey was bagged on so much. It's not his fault that she dated him under false pretenses. When she breaks up with him he behaves like a jerk - which even Tamara says is out of character. The way it was set up seemed like the autho...
This book is what I like to call hot with a capital H-O-T!! It hooks you from the very first page. Once I started it, I wasn't able to put it down until it was done. It was well worth the three trips I made to Borders waiting for it to go on sale! Hands down the best contemporary romance I have read in a very long time. I am now burning my way through all of Erin McCarthy's other books - but this one seems to be the best and the steamiest!

2.5 stars
Holly Sh*t! I know, I know, I shouldn't have said something like that, but words were made for a reason and there are moments you just HAVE to use them, well this is definitely one of them. I just can't believe how good this book was. I was expecting a great read because all my goodreads' friends loved it so much, but I never thought it would be THIS good! Contemporary romance is really surprising me more and more every new day.I was already in love with sport related books but I had no clue car...
Finally rereading it! *Dancing around* I will update my review after the reread! Aww, well as soon as I get a minute to spare and a computer that works!Hot contemporary romance. 5 starsElec Monroe is one of the hottest heroes of all times. I had a picture of Jude Law in my mind, but Elec was even hotter. And he is just great! The story is about 32-year old widow Tamara Briggs who lost her husband in a race-car accident. She has two children and they are of course very important to her. However, I...
This is a hard book to say if I liked it or not because I did and I didn’t. I’d only recommend it if a reader was looking for particular themes but not because it’s a really good book. It’s generally well-written and the sex was mighty hot but it's not my kind of book. I didn't like the race car backdrop –I think I would have liked a ritzier Grand Prix Racing than NASCAR. When all was said and done it didn’t feel like anything really happened. There’s no real conflict or people with major issues...
This was probably one of the best contemporary romances I've read all year, and boy was it a hot one! The hero, race car driver Elec (yes, that's his name) Monroe, is a hero any woman would fall in love with. He's thoughtful, kind, sentimental, humble, funny, and sexy as all get-out! It's no wonder the heroine, Tamara Briggs, can't resist him, although she certainly tried. But it would be like trying to resist chocolate!Tamara, 32 yrs. old, is a recent widow with 2 children ages 9 and 7. Her dec...

Getting women was never a problem when
I LOVED IT!It seems like ages since I had planned to read this book, but for some unknown reason, I kept postponing it. And by the time I finished reading this, I was mentally kicking myself for not picking it up sooner. Oh boy, this book was soooooooo cute! The story was incredibly sweet yet mind-blowingly sexy on so many levels. I was effortlessly pulled into this story from the very start, and very pleased to completely lose myself in there until the end.Reading Flat-Out Sexy reminded me why
A big shout-out to whoever listed this “dish” as part of the Lisa Klepas Pot Luck Reading Challenge! THANK YOU!!!Flat-Out Sexy is my first read by Erin McCarthy and I am so, so looking forward to the next installment of the Fast Track series. This was a fun, sexy read. A great story, nothing heavy or angsty, just a “sit back and enjoy the ride” good time! And that’s exactly what I was looking for. I’m not going to go into plot detail, because the story blurb tells you quite enough without me re-...
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Tamara Briggs is a 32 year old widower with 2 children. When she lost her husband in a tragic racecar accident she swore she would stay away from the adrenaline junkies and have nice safe relationships. That all changed the moment she bumped into Elec...literally. They are instantly attracted to one another and despite the age difference (she's older) and her leariness to avoid being with racecar drivers...they just can't stay away from one another.I loved how both Tamara and...
Really 4.5 stars! A very sexy and very touching story..."Flat-Out Sexy" by Erin McCarthy is a truly entertaining read with humor, emotion, and desire wrapped up in a very touching love story. Tamara is a teacher, a mother, and a widow. She's also feeling very unsexy and it's no surprise since she can calculate to the day, the last time she had sex. And she really can't count the boring professor since she had to force herself to do it once and would rather eat nails than do it again! Then she sp...
5+ stars - Contemporary Romance/EroticaI LOVED this book! I picked this up after reading so many rave reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, and I was not disappointed. Erin McCarthy’s Flat-Out Sexy is one of the best contemporary romances I’ve read in a long, long while. It’s a very touching, sweet, funny, entertaining, sexy love story with lots of humor and heart and characters to care and cheer for. The hero, 26 year-old race car driver Elec Monroe, is an absolute dream that any woman would fall he...
This is the discussion that took place with my husband and I about the cover of this book:ME: " Check out the guys package on the front cover of this book!"HUBBY " Its a cup."ME: I dont give a sh*t if its a rat stuck down there, he looks hot!"HUBBY: " Its a cup Sam"ME: " Jealous much?"HUBBY: " No comment."So, this book was so much more than what I anticipated. Yes, it was a quick read but WHOA, what an impact it made. Elec Monroe, was the sweetest, kindest guy that I have come across in a book
Another boring, slow book. It's not that it was extremely bad or anything, it was just really really boring. And the characters were pretty "meh" as well (I can't find a better word to describe them). Same old story, same old plot, same old characters.
So why couldn’t she bring herself to like him? Because maybe somewhere deep inside her she still felt the need for speed. For excitement. Uhm yes. Where do I begin? You know those cheap books that are about the typical love sex story between the average looking woman looking for a lifetime commitment and the hottest guy on the planet running from it with all his might? Yes? Are you into them? No? Good. Then avoid this like Satan avoids holy water. My problems with this book:1. Cheesy2. Painfull
Not going to bother writing a big long review for this, but I am so glad I broke my rules to buy and read this one. There was so much to love about it.The relative absence of external conflict left a refreshing focus on the main characters. The conflict grew naturally out of their own understandable hang-ups. Widowed Tamara Briggs is wary of dating at all after her stock car racing husband died in a crash at Talladega, never mind dating another racer. She's also 32, with two kids and the resulta...
I needed a quote from this book for my blog, and I somehow lost my bookmark. So I decided to flip throw the pages and find it. I ended up rereading half of the book and staying up late. This book is as good as I remembered. If you want good erotica that has not only sexy times, but also interesting well-fleshed characters who behave like mature adults, believable romance, funny dialogues and which is low on angst and drama, I highly recommend this series.Original review. November, 2014I picked th...
Wow, I'm usually an alpha girl all the way, but Elec was one of the sweetest, hottest beta heroes I've ever had the pleasure of reading. This book is so fantastic - it's for everyone, especially anyone who may have something they're self conscious about, which I'm sure every woman does. Tamera is a 32 year old widow of a race car driver. She meets gorgeous rookie driver Elec at a party and sparks fly instantly! He's the big pursuer here, and I loved it :) He's almost 26, but very mature and a co...
