As Mae West once said, "between two evils I always choose the one I've never tried before."
Such a choice, and a very dangerous and demanding one at that, soon faces Ginger Buchanan, a former Texas Ranger turned bounty hunter.
Operating out of San Antonio, Ginger and her young partner Conrad are sent out on the trail after Mark and Lorna Bower, two jet setters indicted for trafficking pornography. The couple flee unexpectedly over the border after a last minute, before the trial, gangland style attempt on their lives by two professional hitters from Chicago. In the end, no big surprise, for the couple's pornography business was known to have been backed by mob interests up in Vegas, and possibly financed directly by the notorious mobster, Johnny Milazzo. Indeed, as Ginger and Conrad cross the border into Mexico in hot pursuit, they quickly learn from her inside sources that the two Chicago hitmen are also pursuing them, and quickly glean that the attempted hit was just a ruse. The killers, in fact, are indeed employed by Milazzo, and are using the unwitting couple so that they can track them down to the notorious capo's real desired target, the Bowers' business partner and the mobster's former lover, known in crime circles as the ''Spider Woman''. The situation is made all the more precarious when Ginger discovers that not only is this mysterious figure now under the protection of a local Mexican drug lord, but that Milazzo, an avid wild west fan and a noted self styled gunfighter, has learned of Ginger's own speed and prowess with a gun. He makes it his mission to join the chase and to seek her out so he can enjoy the thrill of a final ''shoot-out'' showdown.
What follows is a three car, high speed chase through northern Mexico, the bounty hunters trailing the fugitives with the killers constantly at their backs, while Milazzo grimly waits for them all to arrive at the other end in the coastal city of Mazatlan.
