Young Boudicca: Early Adventures of the Queen Who Almost Ended the Roman Conquest of Britain

John Daniels
3/5 ( ratings)
Boudicca, granddaughter of Cunobelinus, Arviragus of the Alliance against Rome, is betrothed to King Prasu. On a raid to Gaul with Prince Venutius she falls in love with Venutius. Boudicca marries Prasu but promises Venutius she will leave Prasu if he joins the Romans. When Prasu submits to Rome, Boudicca becomes pregnant by Venutius. Venutius is banished and Boudicca is sent back to Prasu. Her grandfather has a stroke and is healed by Simon Peter. He relinquishes his post to King Caratacus, Boudicca's father, and Peter sends for Philip the Apostle. The Romans invade and Emperor Claudius comes to Colchester where he meets Prasu and Boudicca. Boudicca has her baby in Claudius' presence. It is stillborn but healed by Elsa, Philip's disciple. Claudius orders Philip and Elsa killed but says he will let them go if he can suckle Boudicca's milk-laden breasts. She agrees but tries to kill Claudius on his way back to Rome and is badly wounded. The sexy Queen Cartimandua, Boudicca's rival, betrays the British defense plans, engineers Caratacus' dismissal and tries to lure Venutius away from Boudicca, helping to further Boudicca's ambition to become Arviragus in these fast moving early adventures.
