Caleb Rafferty had just received some very depressing news. He only had three or four months left to live after battling for the better part of two decades to remain alive. When a mysterious stranger made him an incredible proposition it seemed like both the answer to his prayers as well as his worst nightmare. For five thousand dollars the man would sell Caleb a potion that would supposedly allow him to live life over again starting from about the age of 20. The nightmarish catch was the fact that he would be starting over as a young woman.

Once the transformation was complete Kaitlin, as she now called herself, was starting life on the streets with nothing more than the clothes on her back and $100 in her pocket that the stranger had generously provided. Filled with fear and wonder at her new gender Kaitlin must fight a desperate battle to survive and improve her lot in life while discovering many surprising things about being a woman and how that changes so much more than just appearances.

"Second Time Around" is the latest offering from Stacey Zackerly the author of such popular Transgender novels as "The Role of a Lifetime," "Buried Treasure" and "The Fairy Godmother." Although set into motion by magic the story is grounded in some fundamentally realistic aspects of gender identity confusion and the impact of sex roles in society and the way people tend to try and apply labels to everyone.

The story contains explicit adult language and situations.
