Few commentaries seem to be written for common folks. This was my goal in writing Pagans, Prostitutes and other Problems; A Simple Man's Commentary on Joshua. The book of Joshua has one main theme that flows throughout. It is the absolute necessity to fully follow God if you ever expect to experience all that He has for you in this life or the next. God is not interested in you making Him one of the things that’s important in your life. If He is not on the top shelf; if He is not number one in your affections; if He isn’t your sovereign Lord and King, then you might as well not even acknowledge Him at all. It is not easy to fully follow God but He can and will give you the strength and ability to do it. It is all an issue of trust and obedience.
