If you found William Golding’s Lord of the Flies appalling then you may find Changes a little bit more complicated. I never thought boys would revert to murder after only a few weeks being left alone for one. Do not misunderstand me, I can see it happening. I know humans are killers. After a few weeks though? Or even a few months? I doubt it.

The other things is boys do not usually change from one side to the other at the blink of an eye. They will stay with the good guy instead of changing to the bad guy, in my opinion, and if not call me naive, and teach your boys better!

Now add those boys to a scenario where the world as we know it is about to end. There are only a few adults, and they are dying off fast. They only have time to teach boys a few things and hope for the best.

Then add Giovanni, an unknown in any book, about eleven years old, but he is not like other boys.

Now add the girls, or lack of girls. They realize things are different, but they still want to lead and put the boys in their place. Interesting enough? Maybe, but it doesn’t stop there.
