The problem comes in when someone becomes obsessed with their physical appearance to the point that it is the primary focus of their life. The media presents heavily touched up models and celebrities and delivers them as the ideal body type. Of course, these beauty standards are impossible to achieve, but the pressure to try and achieve it can trigger eating disorders and body image issues in both men and women of all ages.
