Molly Hamilton's family holiday to England had been planned down to the last detail. Accommodation had been booked; car hire, trains and sightseeing have all been arranged. But Molly Hamilton, at heart is a people watcher, and what she likes most about her holidays, are the unplanned and unexpected characters she will meet. The lost tourist at the airport, a chatty waiter at the pub, and an extraordinary helpful bus driver, all add to Molly's adventure. But even Molly, could not anticipate the friendship she will make when she accidentally steps on the toes of a young girl, while touring Windsor Castle.

Like all holidays, misfortune befalls Molly in the form of the school bully. Who as Molly discovers is also touring with his family. One meeting with the bully and his family would have been enough. Unfortunately for Molly, just like at school, he appears far too often.

But the turning point of Molly's holiday arrives when her mum, while rummaging around at a book sale, discovers a two hundred year old diary. The diary will open a world which takes Molly and her friends, on a path to discover a long forgotten past. But will the diary reveal all its secrets, or will Molly be left puzzled?
