"What is grit? Grit is the determination to achieve long-term goals, often against difficult odds. The word grit is often used as an umbrella term to describe being resilient, persistent, and having the will to deal with and overcome obstacles. Because learning is often a challenge, a student's grit can make the difference between failing and making the grade. Students who develop grit can improve their academic performance through strengthened resiliency and perseverance.
