Beware of masks!!! This novel of the famous line of Goosebumps is the original book featuring the story of The Haunted Mask that several Youtube Top-lists signaling as the best episode in the now classic TV series which adapted many of the books of the very first original line of Goosebumps. So, I thought that it can be a good idea to read it......and in fact, it was indeed a good reading experience.Revenge is one of the easiest path to darkness, and Carly Beth found out in the harsh way when
Excellent. This is frightening book and actually contained some pretty well-written passages.Carly Beth (love the double name! Woot!) is a scaredy-cat. This wouldn't be so bad - except for the fact that everyone (her little brother, people at school, even her friends) thinks it is really funny to scare her. To make her jump and shriek and scream. It's easy to do. This leads to some pretty cruel practical jokes being played on Carly Beth - worms in her sandwich, etc. Like most times when I read a...
I lied when I said Night of the Living Dummy was my favorite GB book. The Haunted Mask is. I forgot how freaky this one was. You could really get the feeling that the mask was changing poor Carly Beth. What a great Halloween read.
As a kid, these books we're better than junk food to me. I'd read goosebumps like crazy. Though I don't remember much of what took place in The Haunted Mask, I definitely recall the feeling I had while experiencing such an amazing story. I wasn't necessarily scared by any of R.L Stine's novels, but freaked out for sure. There was just a certain thrill that came with reading goosebumps for every kid.
This is it! The Haunted Mask is my favourite out of all the Goosebumps books I've read so far. It's sooo fun! A spooky mask, Halloween setting, great writing, and.. character development? Listen, this is top-tier Goosebumps. If you're going to reread one book out of this series for nostalgia, it should be this one!
Carly Beth's "friends" were little assholes, that's all you need to know.
TAGLINE: IT LOOKS COULD KILL.This stand second among the list of my favorite goosebumps book series! :)R.L. Stine's 'The Haunted Mask' is the eleventh book in the series of the higly-acclaimed Goosebumps. This book follows a girl named Carly Caldwell who was teased of being the most unscary girl in the block when it comes to halloween costumes and the like. So, Carly founds herself at a Halloween store and buys a downright scary looking mask, little does she know that after putting on the mask,
The Haunted Mask (Goosebumps #11), R.L. StineFace to Face with a Nightmare...How ugly is Carly Beth's Halloween mask? It's so ugly that it almost scared her little brother to death. So terrifying that even her friends are totally freaked out by it. It's the best Halloween mask ever. It's everything Carly Beth hoped it would be. And more. Maybe too much more. Because Halloween is almost over. And Carly Beth is still wearing that special mask... تاریخ نخستین خوانش: روز پنجم ماه اکتبر سال 2007 میلا...

***Re-read for Goosebumpsalong!Just as fun, scary and crazy as I remember it. Can't wait to watch the 2 part episode this weekend. :)
Goosebumps were treasure as a kid and I decided I wanted to read this to my newborn. He falls asleep to me reading. So I decided to grab some books that I remember as a child. Goosebumps. They are still chilling as ever but never really got the message untill now. Maybe as kids we don’t look for the message but the haunted mask was all about revenge and how it can backfire.
There's an old adage that Halloween allows you to be your true self for one night a year, and all of the other 364 days you're wearing society's costume. This year Carly Beth decides to show who she is inside, or at least the person her tormenters have turned her into: a monster. It is this mask that calls out to her essence, and she craves to put her victim persona aside for once. The mask bonds with her skin, but is it really the mask or Carly Beth who won't let go of her new identity?
There was a girl named Carly Beth staying along with her friend Sabrina.Every one liked to scare Carly Beth[specially Chuck and Steve liked to scare her].One day at school when it was lunch time Chuck smiled at Carly and gave her a sandwich saying that he don't want it.When she bit it,she felt something as funny and sticky.Oh!!!She ate a worm!!A real earthworm !!!!!!Sabrina was laughing too.Laughter followed her home. When she went home her mother showed her a head.A head made by a mother made fr...
#11 "If looks could kill...."Carly Beth has no idea what she wants to be for Halloween. But she knows it needs to be really scary. When she finds an old mask at a nearby party store she begs the man to let her buy the mask despite his reluctance. Everything seems good and scary at first, but when Carly Beth starts getting strange thoughts while wearing the mask and even has trouble getting it off, things start to get really creepy! I remember this one. Still great!
Be careful what you wish for.....Carly Beth is sick of being the kid that is constantly teased by the boys in her class. They know she scares easily, so Chuck and Steve make it their aim to make Carly Beth jump on a daily basis. One day, after being humiliated for what Carly Beth feels is the last time, she runs home, vows to get her own back and wishes she wasn’t so easily spooked. She wishes, that just once...she could scare Chuck and Steve the way that they scare her.....Her luck is in.....it...
"If looks could kill..." Classic loved it, every time I smell a book I think of this, I have read it quite a few time over the years and will continue to do so...
This reminds me of that episode of Buffy where a curse--or a spell, or something, whatever it was--turns everyone into whatever they're dressed as for Halloween. Except not as funny. Or as scary. And without the benefit of Giles getting all unexpectedly hot at the end and laying the smackdown. Mmm, Tony Head......what was I saying? Oh, right. This is still pretty good, for what it is. It's unsettling, the idea of putting something on for a while, only to realize too late that, not only can you n...
loved this one! action packed, tons of Halloween vibes, and a character i could easily relate to.
While this doesn’t rank amongst my favourite Goosebumps story it is still a classic and a pretty great story. The only problem I have with it is that I find Carly Beth such an insufferable, annoying child that I kind of want to strangle her. She deserves everything she goes through and I was kind of rooting for her to suffer more. Maybe that makes me terrible but I just can’t help it! I do REALLY love the whole idea of the story though, I know I’m making it sound like I hate it but I don’t. Abso...
I'm going to review my experience with the entire Goosebumps universe within this book because I have such strong memories of "The Haunted Mask" TV episode (which you can, of course, now watch on YouTube).R.L. Stine is a master of children's horror and most likely responsible for popularizing the genre. My family owned at least a hundred of his books, all lined up in a rainbow of horror. Some of the Goosebumps staples that stick out in my mind:+ Monster Blood+ Be Careful What You Wish For+ Don't...
