Secure in a world of comfort, Dakota, a friendly and unassuming pig, is content with his life of peace and quiet at the animal sanctuary in the countryside. All of that changes, however, when a zombie outbreak plunges the world into chaos, leaving him and the other animals to fend for themselves. As the danger mounts, it becomes clear that their best chance for survival is to head to “The Town,” where their caretaker, David Weller, was last known to be. As they venture forth, led by Dakota and his closest friend, Orion, a strong and feisty ram, the animals struggle with the flesh-eating dead, a heatwave and disloyalty from within.

David Weller, a compassionate dreamer, finds himself trapped with six others in an old building, surrounded by the hungry undead. His only thought is to get home and rescue his wife and animals. Discovering an underground tunnel gives Weller and the others access to a pickup truck that just might be the answer to his prayers, and a way to get them all to the docks to rendezvous with a boat that will carry them to safety. But when Weller becomes trapped in the tunnel below, he and the others are put to the ultimate test.

Think “Animal Farm” meets “Night of the Living Dead” by way of “The Road,” and you get “Hope and Fear,” a story of friendship and betrayal, of courage and triumph in the face of insurmountable odds.
