The Revenge of Marie Antoinette

The Revenge of Marie Antoinette

Allen Richardson
2.2/5 ( ratings)
As the last hope of finding her missing sister, Abigail, who had been a successful London actress during the Victorian Era, Helena Spencer accepts the title role in a play titled “Marie Antoinette” written and produced by Count Ivan Strekoff, an arrogant cross between Fagan and The Phantom of the Opera. The play is performed before an audience of masquerade-costumed conspirators in the secret theater of a medieval castle on a mysterious island in the Black Sea. Beneath the castle, built on Roman ruins, is a labyrinth of dark cellars, catacombs, winding stairways, secret passageways, and a macabre underground mausoleum. Is the play’s guillotine, built by Count Strekoff himself, just a stage prop for Marie Antoinette’s execution scene or is it to be used for real as in A Tale of Two Cities? Either way, did the guillotine have something to do with the disappearance of Helena’s sister?
