His memoir, WalkOn: My Reluctant Journey to Integration at Auburn University, is his story as the first African-American athlete to graduate from Auburn. Additional works include a critically acclaimed play, Speak Of Me as I Am, and his blog, As I SEE It. On television, Gossom starred as Israel, the title character in the Emmy winning NYPD Blue episode, "Lost Israel." Other credits include Containment, Fight Club, and Jeepers Creepers 2.
