Ted's Ark

Ted's Ark

Peter McDonald
0/5 ( ratings)
Meet Ted Boswell, an easygoing, incurable dreamer stuck in a dead-end job. An abandoned sailboat on a storage lot stimulates his lively imagination, which is moderated only by the impossibility of his dreams and his over bearing and controlling Irish wife, Margie.
Events take a serious turn when one of Ted’s work colleagues dies suddenly on the eve of his retirement, forcing Ted to come to terms with his own mortality and unfulfilled dreams.
With the help of George, a Hungarian immigrant who runs the storage yard, they develop a madcap and wild plan for Ted to sail the boat to England as a tribute to Ted’s deceased father, who brought the family to America.
Despite Ted’s total lack of sailing experience, George becomes an enthusiastic collaborator vicariously dealing with his own unfulfilled dreams. He quotes Tennyson; “Dreams are real while they last – and do we not live in dreams?”
The formidable Margie is determined to nip this project in the bud as she rallies their grown son and daughter against Ted and deviously tries to undermines George’s attempts to assist the project.
Follow Ted’s hilarious and poignant adventures in this tale of dreams and immigrants, of families and friendships.
