Carol Evesham has been interested in the stone since she was a child, while most of the world ignored it. So when she sees the carving in its previously pristine surface, she is both puzzled and angry. Her two friends, Angela and Lila, who also have an interest in the stone are baffled, too.

Things take a stranger turn when she finds more carving on the stone and then she is followed by a mysterious man.

When people start to congregate around the stone, Carol becomes concerned that something is about to happen. Whatever it is, she knows it can't be good.
