Angel Poles: The true story of Britains most famous walking poles and the Angels they carried.

All proceeds from this book will go to SANDS .
In September 2016 I took part in a 185 mile running race called King Offa's Dyke. This event was to raise money for SANDS. On the walking poles I ran with, were the names of 70 babies either still born or who died shortly after birth. After the event I accidentally left these Angel Poles on a train. Extensive enquiries failed to find them so I turned to facebook for help. The response was overwhelming with the post being shared over 29,000 times. As owner and loser of the poles, I felt the full story should be told.
The Angel Poles tell their own story, from humble beginnings in a Decathlon store, to how they helped their absentminded owner complete some of the hardest endurance events in the U.K. including the Lakeland 100, The Wall , Triathlon X, The Enduroman Double Ironman Triathlon and the Enduroman Continuous Quintuple Ironman Triathlon . Finally and most importantly each Pole Angel family was asked if they would like to share their story so each Angel got the recognition they deserve. Many stories were submitted covering all aspects of child loss and describing the harsh realities of still birth and neonatal death.
By buying and reading this book you not only help SANDS continue its vital work, but you ensure the Angels are never forgotten.
