It has been ten years since the sickness began, known as Z-Day. David, a former military grunt, has been through it all since it started. Now he is part of a mid-western community striving to survive in a harsh environment with unpredictable weather and the ever-present undead that roam the countryside and local town. After fighting for so long, David wrestles with the idea of “What does it take to survive?” Everyone makes mistakes, but when decisions cost valuable lives in an almost extinct species, David cannot afford to be reckless and must deal with those mistakes.

Can this little community win out over time against insurmountable odds? Or will the never ending fight take its toll on everyone?

This emotional story encapsulates the human struggle to keep hold of their values, and their very lives for the sake of survival, and hold on to what makes us human.
