This is [a bold alfertion, and a very formi dable challenge. But if the fiatement and com plaint: of the Puritans had been jutt, why did they not give the public, as they were in duty bound, their firm and fubfiance of the Confer ence? If the Bilhop's was falfe, why did'they not fet forth a true and correet account? Yet fo it has happehed, that no account of any not has come down to us, but that of Bitp Bar low: and this, notw1thftanding there were feve ral able men at the Conference, of the Puritan party, who filled the country with grievous com plaints of their hard treatment, and of the'falfe hood and partiality of the Biﬂiops' account.
