REVENGE is an exciting, page-turning, thriller. It begins with an attempted suicide. A pursuit through the North Island of New Zealand follows. It is a prelude to a retrieval of narcotics from the Pacific Ocean. Interspersed with kidnap; ransom and a brutal murder, a cliff-hanging end will leave readers desperate for the follow-up.
Sharon was terrified of the possibility that she might be HIV or have contracted hepatitis. She did not want the child that was developing in her womb, either. Saved in the act of suicide, by her mother, she is intent on revenge. Revenge on her half-brother Jimmy who had set her up with two pals as the victim of date-rape. She had skimmed cash from his drug-dealing enterprise and the rape was his retribution.
Interpol Narcotics agent Chris Scott arrives in Auckland, New Zealand. His brief is to infiltrate the gang that is intent on retrieving a huge cocaine shipment, from a semi-submerged shipping container that is lying off the North Island coast.
Carlos Romero is a rags-to-billionaire Colombian shipping magnate. Despite his wealth he gets his excitement from evading the law with his narcotics trade. Containers of household goods with cocaine concealments are his speciality.
Jimmy Taylor is increasingly frustrated in his pursuit of Sharon. The flight on land and sea, is aided by Scott. Kidnapping her son is the only answer that Taylor sees to retrieving his cash. The cash that he needs to secure his place in the narcotics import trade. The child is snatched at the cost of a brutal murder of an unassuming house-sitter.
The exchange, child for money, takes place on a deserted back road, in the dark of night. The tension increases as a friend secretes himself in Taylor’s vehicle to once again frustrate the villain by repossessing the money. He is, however, awarded severe punishment for the deed.
With the cash passing back and forth, time is running out for Taylor and his pals to pay for the shipment. A tug boat, and its captain, must be employed to undertake the salvage.
Police are engaged in the sea chase, which is interrupted by a severe storm. With the shipping container eventually beached at an isolated location, a criminals versus the police confrontation, is the final conclusion. The final chapters will leave the readers wanting to hear more of the Interpol agent Chris Scott. A UK based thriller nears completion.
