Life and Times of a Police Photographer (crime story Book 1)

Life and Times of a Police Photographer (crime story Book 1)

Michael Lawrence
0/5 ( ratings)
Life and Times of a Police Photographer tells the story of one man's experience as a police photographer working through the lens of a camera; and follows his life over a career spanning thirty years with the Metropolitan Police at New Scotland Yard, capturing some of the most brutal and dramatic incidents ever committed in modern day London.

Life and times of a Police Photographer examines the specialist role performed by the police photographer. From murders through to robberies and road traffic accidents, as well as victims of assault and fire scenes. The photographer is often one of the first people to be called out to a crime scene, any time of day or night, in all weathers to record the horrific details put before him. Whether it is a drugs bust in palatial Knightsbridge or a legion of maggots feeding off a rotting body on some run down housing estate. Michael would be there with his camera ready to record the events as they unfold. As well as recounting his experiences toiling at the "front line" Michael Lawrence also goes onto reveal some of the more humorous aspects of his work including a thermos flask containing "dead hand soup". As well as the occasion when he had to photograph damage caused by students after they wreaked an artist interpretation of Tracey Emin's bed, as it was being displayed at the Tate Gallery. Last, but not least, is the story of Michael's almost calamitous encounter with Her Majesty the Queen Mother as she was attending an official visit to Hammersmith Police Station.
