Legal Discipline Office Director Dean Alessi and his Chief Investigator Stu Foley return in this third installment of the Lawyers Gone Bad series to open another “unofficial” investigation into lawyers gone bad. This time, their investigation may scuttle the hopes of Buffalo Stallions fans for a trip to the Super Bowl as they dig into whether the local District Attorney has been bribed by the Stallions’ owner to dismiss a rape investigation into the team’s young star QB, Jake Riley.
After the prosecutor who had handled Riley’s rape investigation cries during her secret meeting with Dean, he enlists Foley to help him uncover whether the DA was paid off. But as their investigation gets going, Dean and Foley find that there are others, including the Stallions’ arch rival and perennial AFC champs, the Atlantic Colonials, interested in either revealing or burying the truth. That spells trouble not only for the Stallions, but for the alleged rape victim and a witness; and ultimately for Dean and Foley.
Complicating matters along the way, the state Supreme Court’s Chief Justice, Chip Krane, and Dean’s former boss and now Supreme Court associate justice, Brad Gunther, are back monitoring his every move.
All this culminates in an exciting and surprising conclusion that proves the old adage, “winning is everything.” It also answers the question central to all Buffalo Stallions’ fans – will the Stallions ever make it to another Super Bowl?
Books 1 and 2 of the Bestselling Lawyers Gone Bad series, “Lawyers Gone Bad” and “Personal Injuries” have won praise from critics and readers alike! Join the legion of readers interested in finding out just how bad lawyers can be.
