Continues with the stories started. Nothing really new but hopefully more to come.
A fun book that was way dirtier than I expected. The art is beautiful and the stories are fun, but a little Harley goes a long way. Awesome lettering work by Dave Sharpe!
3.5I really like the variant cover galleries!
Harley gets a visit from her parents and gets her birthday bash crashed by 25 assassins!More zaniness from Palmiotti and Conner as they pretty much are very comfortable with the character of Harley and the overall tone of the book. This actually wasn't bad. I appreciate how the writers are able to balance a huge cast of characters and somehow still make it coherent. There are so many weird side characters, that it could get very messy and silly. Yet, they manage to make it all work and even make...
A fun and silly volume, but I wish it had gone a bit more into Harley’s relationship with her parents. However, seeing all of the chaos of her building pop out one by one like a British farce was highly entertaining. And a Gotham City Sirens reunion is always a good thing!
Harley is fast approaching her birthday ( literally). The Harley 25th issue and anniversery special are included in this volume and do not disappoint. All the shaddy things that the mayor of new york is coming to light! He even puts a hit on Harley! This still continues to be just a fun read.
A few stories here: Harley's parents come to town, she has an eventful surprise party, and Penguin tries to take over Coney Island. A good time.
I loved it.
Harley gets a fun visit from her parents. Then it's all about the birthday celebrations as Harley turns 25 (in real life. It's the 25th anniversary of her creation.) The fill in issue by Frank Tieri was not good until the last page which made it all worth it.
That's my girl!Much improved story line than the last collection but I still miss the anti-hero vibe
3.5. A little unbalanced but still so fun. World: The art is much better compared to the last arc, there's a bigger sense of fun and ridiculousness. The world building is solid, much like the last arc there is a lot more call backs to the entire run and it's great for long time friends. It's a good intro too with mum and dad that was fun. Story: The parent arc was fun fun fun. The assassination story was great cause we get to see Harley let loose and it is fun. The pacing is good, the jokes most...
It's going good that's all I can say, good artwork and everything. :)
3 1/2 Stars. Surprise Surprise continues the fun of the Harley Quinn Rebirth series. You could technically jump in here (or anyway else) and get a feel for things, but you would be missing out on a lot of the events and context. This volume has issues 22 through 27, as well as the Harley Quinn 25th Anniversary Special. I’m not going to lie; it’s hard to believe that our little Harley has been around that long. Man does time fly.(view spoiler)[ So this probably wasn’t my favorite of the Harley Qu...
Yet again, another load of sexist material. Can DC please fire Palmiotti and Connor? They're ruining a great anti-hero by making her a childish, abusive bitch whose only purpose is to be eyecandy for creepy old men.
No volume-wide storyline ,which is a nice change and a better fit for the character, but also widely varied quality in the art that was disappointing.
After the last volume this one is a let down. The first story picks up from the previous volume and hanging with Harley's parents just is not much fun. The next story about Harely's birthday party has lots of action and plenty of humor and brings along Catwoman and Poison Ivy for the fun. Then it goes down hill quickly when different writers take over for Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palamiotti. The story even has a joke at the end about Harley not liking the new writers.........but wait Amanda and J...
This entry into the ongoing Harley Quinn is good but not one of the strongest. The First half of the book continues the series and is the strongest. It involves a visit from Harleys' parents who have a few surprises of their own to show proving the apple does not fall far from the tree. The first half also puts the crazy cast of characters that surround Harley to good use and that is always a plus. The return of Chad Hardin is also welcome. He captures the vibe of the writing team better than an...
Harley is stressed because her parents are coming for a visit... which is exactly why a visit from Harley Sinn is very bad timing! But her parents are no goody goodies either, which leads to a fun family adventure taking down criminals. LOLNext up? A surprise birthday party for Harley! What happens when assassins show up uninvited? Harley and Friends vs. The Unconquerable 25! Add in a trip to throwdown on Penguin for taking over part of the neighborhood, a Vegas Trip with Ivy and Catwoman that e...
These reviews (or lack thereof because I'm only really saying a sentence or two about each one) are getting repetitive but Harley's fourth wall breaks are great, her personal growth is great, watching her be happy with Poison Ivy (especially before seeing a filler about what she was like a little after she met Joker) makes my heart happy. Maybe Red Tool has a bit of a problem but so far it's not in any way creepy or concerning (at least to me). He genuinely seems like he has a good heart and I h...
Harley and her crew are simply not to my taste. Okay story...but a comic I would be better with being thinner on story.
