Taking The Tunnel

Taking The Tunnel

One way in, one way out…

However, they are also very lucrative for the powerful Chinese Triads – the gangs that control the mass influx of drugs, luxury goods and anything else you could want that comes into China.

These triads are not like their American cousins, the mafia. They are ruthless and abide by a code of honour so strict that they are almost impossible to penetrate.

Jonny Turnbull is a British policeman whose job it is to patrol the waters surrounding Hong Kong and China, apprehend all smugglers and stem the flow of illegal goods into the country.

By no means an easy task.

Their efforts are more-or-less ineffectual, with the Triads more than willing to take the minor loss of goods here and there, considering the vast amount they manage to sneak past the outnumbered and outgunned authorities.

During the night, Jonny and his crew of four others wait for the notorious Ma brothers.

But the Ma brothers are legendary for a reason and escape unharmed, killing several of Jonny’s crew and leaving the rest floundering in the water.

Upon Jonny’s return to shore, he discovers that his two-year-old son, Sam, has been murdered in brutal retribution by a particularly well-known enforcer of the triads, Dai Choi, The Archer.

Ten years later and Jonny is still trying to get to Dai Choi, who is now the senior enforcer of the White Lotus Triad.

And with the British Government not issuing British passports to all the inhabitants of the Hong Kong, tension is reaching boiling point and the corrupt Triads feel something must be done.

Britain has been fighting a war with the IRA for decades and so the triads join forces to threaten the only physical link with the UK and the rest of the world – the seemingly impervious Channel Tunnel.

The British Government can’t handle the pressure from both the IRA and the Triads and there is only one man who knows what they’re truly up against… Jonny Turnbull.
