No Other Sort of Life

No Other Sort of Life

Barbara Lynch
0/5 ( ratings)
Min and Dan wish their son Allan to know what it was like for them during the dark days of the Cultural Revolution. They believe that because Allan will grow up in such a different time and in such a different world, it is important that he understands what his parents suffered and how they overcame the interruptions to their lives to become successful members of society.
Children like Min and Dan grew up during the Cultural Revolution in China in the years 1967 to 1976. Min’s ordinary life in a bourgeois family in Shanghai was to be another sort of life. Dan, from a Christian family, would suffer persecution for his faith. Both have made a life in the West but their Shanghai roots are deep.
Barbara Lynch has authored over 100 books, play scripts and CD-ROMs. She has a longstanding interest, affection and enthusiasm for all things Chinese.
