The actors and their individual stories are interwoven to form the plot.
Two main characters, Rosalind and Felicity, are old school friends. At 29, they begin to fear that hitting 30 will plunge them into the start of middle-age. Civil and political unrest are happening around them. Even their fathers have been striking and marching! Both choose new and different paths which ultimately look set to threaten their friendship.
There are other main characters who belong to opposing political groups. They begin by behaving and thinking according to their beliefs and objectives. Some are motivated by political choice. Others are engaged in undercover intelligence gathering. Those not initially involved in the complex tangle of intrigue, either by chance, or through relationships, are dragged into the ferment.
The sands of change are eroding the existing state of affairs. The parameters are shifting. The storm is about to strike.
