Luther Five Asides

Luther Five Asides

Al Taylor
1/5 ( ratings)
The inside story of the beginning of the Reformation - from the Catholic side.
After posting his 95 theses Luther had to face many debates and adversaries, from former friends to high-rank officials including the Pope himself. The Luther Five Asides is a series of five stories, telling the early fights of the Reformation from the point of view of Luther's opponents: Archbishop Albert, to whom the theses were originally sent, Father Tetzel, the Dominican indulgence-seller, whose activity ignited the spark of the Reformation, Cardinal Cajetan, who had the chance to solve the case, Doctor Eck, who - as he claimed - triumphed over Luther in a debate and Pope Leo X, who excommunicated the doctor of Wittenberg.
The five episodes tell one story: the early story of the Reformation, the theological and political struggles, the debates and clashes, now in an unique point of view of the Catholic side, told by the opponents themselves.
