One of the better Deadpool limited run serials. Old Man Logan and Wade find themselves trying to protect omega level mutant 'Maddie' from military / science research organisation Genform. With some great Deadpool quips and a study, in a way, of what drives them both, this is a well drawn and interesting to read adventure. 7 out of 12.
This should have been called "deadpool and Old man Logan try and save a girl".This is barely Deadpool vs. Old man Logan... sure they fight but its not the main attraction at all. It simple just give us Deadpool and Oldman logan fighting for 5 issues... but no it has to be saving some mutant. The writing is pretty rough too, it feels forced. By the end it gets slightly better but no much. The art is not anything to write home about either, its a bit sub par. Seems like its a setup for a series......
The Deadpool books have become that annoying kid in high school that everybody at first assumes is the class wit, but grows obnoxiously tiresome after a while because his schtick gets redundant fairly quickly and eventually the kid’s avoided, until someone wisely sells him to the local motorcycle gang or gets him drunk and gets him shanghaied on a pirate ship. For me, it’s to the point where I’ll borrow almost anything else in the library, running my eyes quickly past the “D” section of graphic
Why is it the trend with Marvel to title books vs when they are really team ups?
Lavishly gory with the correct amount of wit, it's exactly what you'd expect from this duo. Unfortunately, it's really just a lot of action combined with a lackluster plot. Shamelessly shallow narratively and heavy on miscommunication as a plot device, this has fun moments in an overall okay experience.
3.25 stars. This was decent. Logan is tracking this powerful mutant to try and bring to the Xavier School. There is a military outfit after her also. Deadpool crosses their path and now Logan and Wade are after this mutant girl. There were some funny moments to be had and some action and solid art. The story however was kind of simple. I get the feeling from the writing that Shalvey hasn’t written too many comics. But again, still some enjoyment to be had.
18th book read in 2018.Number 272 out of 678 on my all time book list.Gore, blood, and fun.
An okay read. So I'm a bit disappointed in this one, really was expecting more from it. So the story has a mutant girl with Omega level powers being hunted down by a shady organization; while trying to help her, Deadpool and Old Man Logan run into one another and the usual comic book team up stuff happens. Now one of the best things about Deadpool is how he bounces off and interacts with other Marvel characters especially Wolverine. But here its just so uninteresting... I mean the story is avera...
I found this volume hilarious. Especially with Deadpool trying to save someone solely to one up Wolverine. I think my favorite line happened with in the first or second page, where a bunch of punks are causing trouble on the subway. One of them slaps a book out of an old lady's had before they continue harassing the passengers. The old lady says, more rhetorically than anything else, 'I'd pay someone to slap those guys around'. At which point the newspaper being read beside her drops away to rev...
An Absolute BlastThis was a comic that remembered comics could be fun. It put a smile on my face and left me wanting a sequel.I'd 4.5 stars it if I could.
It's sad that it was only 5 issues.Great storytelling!Great artwork!Great, great, great!
Quip-trading and blood spilling as to be expected, a few nice story twists are a bonus.
wade & logan accidentally begrudgingly team up to try to save a teenage mutant chick who doesn't actually want or need their help. I LOVED THIS!! from page one this was fantastic. the characterizations were BEAUTIFUL, wade was funny and silly and ridiculous and charmingly violent and logan was a snarky hilarious grumpy old curmudgeon and they bickered and fought each other but were both just genuinely trying to help the little mutant girl... CHEF'S KISS! and the art was lovely and the coloring w...
Meh.
The banter was great but the overall story left me wanting more.
7.5 solid. Entertaining comic. A better 3 stars than the other ones. Full entertainment and no story in this so if ur looking for fun this 1 is for you.
