Between the dog and the wolf

Between the dog and the wolf

Joel Meyerowitz
0/5 ( ratings)
49 colour photographs and a text by Joel Meyerowitz / 49 fotografie a colori e un testo in inglese di Joel Meyerowitz . 8vo pp. 72 Rilegato, custodia Nuovo "The first time I was ever conscious of, and made a photograph about a pool by the sea was in Wales on a stormy day in 1996 when the wind was thrashing the water in a swimming pool at the edge of the sea. I stood there watching the two bodies of water moving in time to their own energies, which were worked up by the wind and the different depths of the water. I stood hypnotized by the difference in color and the way the waves beat upon their banks. In years to come I found myself becoming attracted to the idea of water near water like this - a contained body of water next to the wildness of nature. Oddly, it was often at the twilight hour, that I was drawn to these pools by the sea, the one a friendly place and the other wild, and I began to see them as a pairing between the known and the unknown. I have been working on this series on and off for forty years"
