They came for our dead

They came for our dead

Robert E. Dudley II
0/5 ( ratings)
The alien ship flickered in the distance, in a second it was hovering over our building.
"You don't understand," Brian said, licking his lips, waving his hands above him. "They aren't coming to eat us or use our resources. They can get anything they want out in space."
"Then what? What would drive them here, why come here?" I asked. My father, agitated got up and came to the window. Looking out he saw the disk, hovering silently, the trees near it were moving violently.

"Simple, very simple. They have seen our television, read our social media, watched our movies. They are coming here for the one thing we have and they do not."

"And...."
"Our afterlife. It is the only thing we have but they don't. In all our religions, in our movies, tv shows, it shows that after we die we go on. They must not. They have come here to pull our dead back, to study them so they can achieve it as well. Through their science..."
"Impossible!"
Under the ship a black hole opened up. A dozen feet across. Suddenly, something that had not walked the earth came out of it......

And so starts the story 'They came for our dead.'
