It's right there. It's right in front of us. It's hiding in plain sight, buried in our scriptures, textbooks and fairy tales. Our sciences can't see it right in front of them, our religions can't understand it, but it's still right there.
There is a Greater Power.
It's not an arbitrary magic that is passed down through birthright, or brought about to fulfill a prophecy. It's also not some random mutation or rare cosmic phenomenon.
It is the flow of energy that connects everything together, and it can only be harnessed by using a knowledge. A knowledge gained by staring mortality in the face and feeling the subtle influences all around us.
There are some people who obtain this knowledge and discover the beauty of humanity. Not wanting to attract attention, many of them do their best to subtly uplift and inspire society.
But where some rise, others fall. Consumed by the shadows of humanity, these other people are swallowed up by their appetites and the eternal pursuit to feed them.
More than anything, these people want the masses to remain silent and in their proper place, distracted by medication and technology, so they can stand high in their towers, free from consequence.
And they are willing to do anything to anyone who threatens them.
Even if that anyone is a thirteen year old boy.
