The mountains were the perfect get away for two old friends. The mountains were a quiet, familiar place and a cool escape from the scorching July sun.
Julie and Grace had been visiting the Cascade Mountains since they were children. They returned every year to long standing customs of berry picking, fishing and hiking. They expected nothing less this trip, and settled in easily among the pine trees near a stream.
It should have been an easy afternoon hike. Julie would search for forest edibles and Grace could get her exercise fix for the day. But this will be no ordinary walk in the woods. There is something dark in the forest today. Something lurking just out of sight.
When mountain guide Brian, finds Julie, she is injured and alone, high in the mountains and running on empty. He's not sure what to make of her bizarre story, but agrees to help find her friend.
Love and loyalty propel the two through unthinkable hardship and inconceivable horror. But nothing compares to what Grace is enduring. Nothing. Julie knows, They Exist, and she'll stop at nothing to save her friend from them.
