It was a time when families gathered on the front porch to hear someone tell ghost stories. It was a time before modern technology changed lives.

I was lost in thought, remembering the occasions my brothers and I would gather on the front porch to hear Mom tell us stories. She found a story in everyday happenings that so many people have a tendency to take for granted. It was not unusual for my brothers and I, and even dad, to find ourselves in many of her stories. And, to gain knowledge about those things around her, Mom was forever asking questions of anyone she met. She may not have had the knowledge to put it down on paper, but in her mind she had written many a story and they were brought to life on our front porch. Through her creativity and imagination, we children were finding a happiness that would bond our lives together for generations to come.

"A Front Porch Trilogy" includes: "Three Warnings", "A Distant Sermon", and "Old Man Davis' Car". It's Mom's stories written on paper by her daughter.
