TJ Rages: Two Girls, Too Many Margaritas

Katie and Anna are seniors in high school and best friends. When they sneak down to Tijuana, Mexico to a club called TJ Rages, their fun ends when a man is murdered on the dance floor. Worse yet, their friendship is forced to an end. Fast-forward five years, the two are reunited. They decide to go back to TJ for old-times sake however, Katie and Anna soon find themselves running for their lives. They have been sought-after by the TJ Rages club owner ever since the night of the murder years earlier. Whether on a cruise ship, riding burros, or running through a pinata factory... it isn't until the final showdown at the Las Cruces Cemetery that Katie and Anna's friendship must pass the biggest test of all.

Review:
A fun and quirky read!! The story is formatted as a script within the novel. The book is fast-paced, with lots of humor, witty dialog and a cast of colorful characters. The story begins in 1995 Los Angeles, with immediate flashback to 1990 where the TJ Rages adventure begins. Two teenage best buds , with polar-opposite personalities (Katie /Anna ), find themselves heading to Tijuana, Mexico, fake IDs in hand, for an evening of fun. A second trip to TJ’s two days later lands them in the middle of a murder, making them the target of a local drug dealer. The Mexican Police arrived at TJ’; the girls were taken to the police station for questioning and released to their parents. Fast forward to 1995 – the girls are reunited after a five-year geographical separation. This called for another road trip to TJ Rages to celebrate their reunion. Unbeknownst to Katie and Anna, they had not fallen off the TJ Rages drug dealer's radar. The dealer believed Katie and Anna had information which would lead him to a large stash of hidden drugs. From here on out the girls are pursued by the drug dealer, police, and FBI, a chase which results in a comedy of unreal but humorous situations. Highly recommend! I look forward to future books authored by Zotter Waltz!
