WHEN the following Translation was first attempted, some years ago, it was not in the least designed to meet the public eye; the only motives were the Translator’s own exercise and improvement;—certain reasons have since prevailed with him to commit it to the press; and should it fall into the hands of any beyond the circle of his friends, for whom it is more immediately intended, he hopes it will meet with a candid perusal:—And, so far as its principles are agreeable to Divine Truth, he fervently prays it may be attended with the Blessing of God.
