This is genuinely funny. Truly captures the spirit of the film. Jack has caused Hell on Earth (and are you really surprised?) and he's trying to make up for it. Sorta. Just a really fun book and if you liked the movie you will almost surely enjoy this book.

Lots of fun. The book took me back to when I first saw the film.
A must for fans of BTiLC. Jack Burton and David Lo Pan journey through Hell as The Odd Couple.Jack: “Pete! I thought you were dead.”Lo Pan: “It’s a demon! He’s not called Pete. Stop calling things other, stupider things.”Jack: “Nahhh, Pete and I go way back ever since he smuggled himself out of your weird sex dungeon.”
4 1/2. A true blast!

Big Trouble in Little China is one of my favorite films so it is a natural to read any comics based off of it. Jack is older but still getting in as much trouble as always. A blast for fans of the movie.
What you want is what you get. silly action, glib one liners, and a self-awareness that is almost deadpool-esque at times.
Old Man Jack: Volume 1This is the first volume of ‘Big Trouble Little China’ I have read, and not having seen the 1985 movie, well … I didn’t know what to expect. But this is hilarious! It’s like Mad Max on a Lampoon ‘Vacation’!#1“Wait, that’s IT? What kind of namby-pamby millennial underworld you call this? I’ve seen Ikeas more hellish than this place!”#2After I “got it” following the first issue, well, I love it!Driving through ‘hell’: “This place makes TUCSON look like DALLAS.”.“See, THIS, is
Good, Bad, and UglyWhoa boy. Talk about your mixed bags. There's a bit of everything in this one. Let's start out with the blindingly obvious -- the misleading cover. Jack in the comic looks nothing like him. The covers are filthy lies. The rest of the characters look good, but they did ol' Jack Burton dirty. They also made Jack dumber than in the movie, which seems to be a common theme in the comics. Not the worst I've seen, but it did sometimes bug me. That said, there were things I liked abou...
Big Trouble in Little China was an 80s film that blended comedy, martial art action, magic, and monsters and became a cult classic. This official continuation of the film brought to you by John Carptenter himself! Jack Burton is back smug, cocky, older & bolder. The earth has literally gone to hell but a deal with the devil, more accurately a devil, has old Jack living in paradise aka Florida. In comes David Lo-Pan who is not only a blast from the past but who is not really on Jack's friend list...

Cartoonish, over-the-top "hero" Jack Burton is cartoonish and over-the-top in this extension of Carpenter's camp classic. Jack's in paradise- but he must've done something awful to get here. It takes a long time to find out what and what old Jack Burtion is going to do about it. Worth the ride on the Porkchop Express, if you loved the movie.
