Ugh another bad collection of short stories....

A good variety of stories. It's an anthology so, different story, by different author, which is great. Some are, of course, better then others, but overall it's a good anthology, that offer great variety of horror in it's style of illustrations and of storyline. Interesting and original!

I’ll be honest, I only decided to read this graphic novel anthology for the Neil Gaiman and Brian Azzarello stories. Funny that their stories weren’t among my favorites after I read through the rest of the stories in this anthology. I have yet to find an anthology that gets higher than 3 out of 5 stars from me. This comic style anthology really surprised me! Where most of the stories were only a handful of pages, and were easily forgettable (for me anyway), there were a couple of stories that packed such a serious punch that it super-bumped up my rating. SHOCK Anthology is a collection of short stories told via comics. Being a lover of short stories, and taking into consideration that super cool cover, how could I resist? This is why we love anthologies The tales are all great, and some take risks you can only really take in short tales.But wow some of them are just incredible, and like only an anthology, you come for Bradstreet, Gaiman and Willingham, and then some of their colleagues find a way to move you in incredible ways.

Shock is a comic anthology by Aftershock comics, and I figured this would be a good way for me to become familiar with more comic writers and artists. There is a wide mix of different types of dark stories in this comic book style anthology. None of the stories were exactly bad...but a few I did not exactly understand. One of them is the one called "Istanbul". I can follow along with the action easily enough but I don't get the point of that story. It doesn't make any sense to me. The main character is riding on a donkey and then he grabs on to a flying device and he ends up in an area of big skyscrapers but now he is a giant?? Also didn't see...

This is an anthology of 21 mini-comics of different genres and types. Aftershock stretched the limits here, beyond what they typically do, in order to ensure all tastes were met.I love that they continued the tradition of including blurbs of the artists and writings at the end.
