Excerpt from The Church in Wales: Report of a Paper Read Before the Church Institution, July 6, 1870
In tracing the progress of the Church in Wales during the last forty years, it will be impossible within the limits of this paper to go into details of the work done in all the four Dioceses, and as one Diocese was selected as a specimen of neglect and abuse, per haps it will be only fair if I take the same Diocese, and show what has been done in it since 1831.
