Fun Foods for Kids & Grownups: Your Essential Guide to Family Fun & Good Health

Fun Foods for Kids & Grownups: Your Essential Guide to Family Fun & Good Health

Mindy Reed
5/5 ( ratings)
The internationally published health and fitness
author Linda Davis Kyle and editors Guy Lancaster and Mindy Reed have worked to
present naturally nutritious foods quickly and enjoyably to capture the
imaginations and interests not only of the young but also of the mature and to
help build better health and to help keep its readers naturally trim.

Using this book is a great way to get the recommended
five servings a day of fruits and vegetables with gentle "smart-start" recipes.
Fruitarians enjoy this book because it introduces so many fun arrangements of
luscious fresh fruits. Vegetarians love this book because it includes so many
exciting garden fresh vegetarian dishes. Meat eaters love the way the vegetable
dishes work as terrific veggie highlights and great salad accompaniments with
their delicious fresh seafoods, baked chicken, or broiled sizzling steaks. Most
of all the dishes are meant to enhance pleasant moments of sharing and nurturing
family bonding and the raising of high self-esteem at the same time that they
nourish.

These recipes imported from the make-believe land of
Abunda Gardens in Crescent Valley in the introductory story written by Kyle and
Scottish sci-fi co-author William Meikle make the recipes even more fun by
bringing magic to every meal for the youngsters and giving parents and caring
adults a pleasant way to introduce all the joy that the book can bring. With
their story, they encourage parents and other caring adults to read with
youngsters daily. Used in a gentle and relaxed manner, the book can add
immensely to the fun of being together and can increase the harmony in your
household and create warm, wonderful memories your youngsters will
cherish.

With this book you will prepare nutritious foods that
are fun for children, begin an adventure that can nurture better health and
longevity, prepare tasty meals, and plan great parties. You can introduce new
foods with "smart-start" recipes, avoid the "good-for-you" and the "bad-for-you"
traps, create rational attitudes about foods and food choices, learn to model
and to encourage fitness, and to nurture self-esteem and bright
beginnings.  Michael Scott, MD, the Medical Director of Sierra Tucson
introduces the book with his Foreword, and Michael Janson, MD, of WholeHealth
New England, concludes the book with his Afterword. The Appendix includes "Tips
for Creating a Rational Attitude toward Foods," "Tips for Staying Trim," and a
treasure chest of information resources of interest to parents, guardians,
caregivers, educators, and youngsters. A handy Index makes this title a friendly
companion reference for years to come.
