Mid-Autumn Musings

Mid-Autumn is a harvest festival for poets and writers, when scholars in China, Vietnam, Korea and ancient Japan gathered to admire the waxing moon and compose poetry in her honour. There would be lots of wine to go with the gatherings. Also, unfortunately, lots of sing-song girls and very few literary women.

I want to claim kinship with those ancient poets and writers, but as a 21st century woman who's been taught to read and allowed to voice.
