Sealladh as Ùr air Ealain na Gàidhealtachd = Rethinking Highland Art: The Visual Significance of Gaelic Culture

Sealladh as Ùr air Ealain na Gàidhealtachd = Rethinking Highland Art: The Visual Significance of Gaelic Culture

Murdo MacDonald
0/5 ( ratings)
It is rare that Gaelic-speaking artists and artists who are inspired by the culture of the Gàidhealtachd get the recognition they deserve even though they are a big part of Scottish art. This book tries to change that. The book has it's origin in a research collaboration between the Visual Research Centre, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. Included in the book is a foreword by Donnie Munro, essays from Arthur Watson and Murdo MacDonald who comments on the Chrannghal, the piece of brass artwork that can be seen outside the main building at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. There is also a visual essay where you will see some of the wonderful artwork from the Highlands.
